Gem Used Information
Gem Used TipsIt takes millions of years to make a diamond. Only one fourth of the diamonds that are mined are made into jewelry. When you own a diamond, you own something which is a legend in the making. It has not been made in a factory just the other day. More interestingly not all the diamonds mined are made into jewelry. A diamond comes from the bosom of the earth. Use a lint free cloth, or a jewelry polish cloth to pat them dry. You can use an small soft brush such as an eyebrow or lip stick brush and soap and water to clean your jewelry. Simply make a bowl of warm sudsy water with a mild detergent and place your pieces in the mixture. Then brush the diamonds with the soft bristles of the brush while they are in the suds. You can use a small kitchen strainer such as a tea strainer to contain them while rinsing under warm water. You will need to make certain that you rinse them clear of the suds after cleaning them. Gem Used AdviceThe beauty of the gem only is discovered after it is polished and cut out by the stores which are to sell these gems to the public. If you think that those adorable gemstones are beautiful from the very start then you are wrong, because when they are located inside the mines they might probably end up on long list of your most precious objects. Pearls can eventually disintegrate, even if all you do is wipe dust off them. Usually a gemstone has to be durable enough to wear as adornment, but others, while too soft to wear, are valued by collectors. And if you spray hairspray or perfume on them, this can also damage your pearls. Most gems are hard and durable, although pearls can be easily damaged, as can opals and moonstones. Gem Used Facts
